I’m a produced playwright and award-winning screenwriter. My one-act play, “The Chamber Of Beheaded Queens” - an imagined encounter between Anne Boleyn, Mary Stuart, Catherine Howard and Marie-Antoinette in the afterlife – won a competition and enjoyed a run at major fringe festivals in Liverpool and Manchester (UK).
Screenwriting laurels include winning the Roadmap Writers “Wise Words” feature script contest, winning the period drama category of Final Draft “Big Break”, winning the horror category of the Just Effing Entertainment competition, being one of the fifty winners of the Create50 “Impact” screenwriting contest, placing as a finalist in two of Rebel Seed’s contests and placing as a semi-finalist in the Page Awards, American Zeotrope, Screenwriting Goldmine and Table Read My Screenplay contests.
I was selected for the London Screenwriters Festival Drama Writers’ Room with Danny Brocklehurst, for the inaugural BFI/Creative Skillset Talent Campus run by London Screenwriters’ Festival and for the New York Film Academy Fellowship at their L.A. Campus. Additionally I completed the “Storytelling for the Screen” course at the Screen Arts Institute in London and have taken several excellent courses organised by Euroscript and London Screenwriters’ Festival.
As well as writing, I occasionally work as an associate producer, either in theatre or film. Theatre production includes working as an assistant producer on a production of Shakespeare’s “Richard III” by the Combat Veterans Company at the Swan Theatre in Stratford and Leicester Square Theatre in London. Currently I am an associate producer on a feature-length documentary, “Postcards From The 48%”, which will be screened at the European Parliament in April 2018.
I have a day job as an international woman of mystery – at least that’s what my friends and family think, because I work in such exotic locations. I’ve been caught up in a revolution in the Ivory Coast, fallen down a mountain in Iceland and been a guest of honour at a wedding in Turkmenistan. I like to push my boundaries. I’d never written any science fiction before, so I wrote this story because I didn’t think I could.
