Lee Burgess // My Story from Singularity50 is To Whomever It May Concern (before the end)

I am an award-winning writer originally from Dorset, England. My first short story Them Darn Checkens (written in somerset dialect) won the Dorset cup in the Bridport young writers competition. The story went on to be published in First Edition magazine.

Later I directed the short film Beautiful Wheels, a silent coming of age tale about a physically disabled girl who longs to escape the trappings of her own surroundings. The film was screened internationally and featured in a piece about disability through social constraints for a doctorate at the university of Calgary in Canada. I went on to win two further awards for the short films Glow (as writer/director) and Mummy fell asleep (as producer), written and directed by John Ninnis.

I am currently developing a feature version of Glow and a TV comedy pilot entitled My kind of Normal.
