Favourite quote: 'Go big or go home'
I trained as a lawyer but have long left that life behind. I'm much happier now wordsmithing (translating) and storytelling (mostly screenwriting but some prose).
The game changer for me was joining the London Screenwriters Festival and Create50 tribes. Over the past years, they have taught me a lot about writing and about myself and given me friendship and encouragement; two invaluable resources for the lonely writer battling with the blank screen.
I love epic adventure stories, whether set in space, in the past, or in the here-and-now, and will forever foolishly write those rather than budget-sensitive social drama. In 2015, I won the Create50/Courage & Kindness award at the British Screenwriters Awards for ‘Psukhe’. My short script ‘Sirtaki’ was selected to be included in the ‘Impact50’ feature film. I am currently working on an eco-thriller (spec), a contemporary war film (commissioned) and two shorts, one of which I want to make myself later this year.
I have written no blogs yet.
